Helping to end child hunger in the UK
Help us stop 'Holiday Hunger' in Daventry
Providing children in Daventry with a hot nutritious meal every day, 5 days a week during every school holiday
Food For Thought Daventry is dedicated to ensure that no child in Daventry goes hungry during school holidays.
We will be providing all participants with a plastic luncheon card which will be allocated to the number of people in the family that will be using the service. These cards will be allocated to children and families through welfare contacts, schools and doctors surgeries. We will attempt not to turn anybody away, but people without cards will be expected to pay for meals providing there are sufficient meals available for cardholders.
If any parents feel that they are in need of help, but do not want to go through doctors, welfare or schools, then they can offer voluntary help to the project and in turn bring their family for meals free of charge.
There will be limited numbers of meals available initially but we hope that with the right level of funding and also some additional support locally we can roll this project out right across Daventry so that we can feed more children without them having to travel across Daventry
Please support us and help more local children.
***We are also looking for volunteers to help with food preparation, cooking and serving locally in Daventry.
(If you feel that you can help even for just a few hours please contact us.)
If you wish to donate you can via either a Paypal account or credit card using Paypal on the right
We are a small local charity that only operates in the Daventry area and our aim is to provide one hot meal to children and their parents every day, 5 days a week during every school holiday free of charge. This is a totally new project which we will be starting for the first half term after the Christmas holidays.
